Using leftover wood, I turned an experiment in form and comfort into a deck chair, reworking an existing design with my own specifications while preserving its structural logic and giving it a contemporary finish.

The Deck Chair

Project Length

2 weeks

Year:

Spring 2025

This project began in the spring of 2025, while my house was undergoing major renovation. We had a pile of leftover wood, and instead of letting it go to waste, I decided to turn it into something personal. What started as an experiment in form and comfort became a deck chair, an exercise in engineering and refining a design that’s been in the market for years. I worked on the specifications, measurements, and material choices to reimagine it through my own lens, keeping its structural logic intact while giving it a contemporary finish.
